On Saturday I graduated from Kendall College of Art And Design with Academic Honors.

I have dreamed of this for so long.  It hasn’t been an easy path, and I won’t say I never wanted to give up.  But through it all, Alex has always encouraged me to never give up, to reach for the stars.  He is my always and forever, my best friend, my love – without him there is no me.

This is the culmination of a journey that has taken eleven years and spanned four colleges in three states.  In that time we also managed to raise three children, build a house, move to India, move back to the United States, and make many, many friends.  In other words, it’s been busy.

I’ve been working towards this degree for a long time, and it’s a strange feeling now that it’s complete. It’s been a fixture in our lives for so long.  The whole thing is a little bittersweet.

I hope that this experience has taught my sweet little kiddos something along the way.  I hope they have learned that hard work does pay off, to never, ever give up on their dreams, and I hope that someday they too will reach for their very own star.
